Philosophy from the Director
My Journey in Music & What to Expect from Piano Lessons
I have been immersed in the world of music my entire life. Unlike many of my colleagues, I was not born into a family of musicians. Instead, I grew up in a household that had built a successful pharmaceutical business for generations. Everyone in my family was a businessperson—none had formally studied music.
I understand how challenging it can be to pursue music when there is no musician in the family. I also know what it takes to achieve your musical goals.
I began playing the piano at the age of three. Despite having no musical training themselves, my parents made sure I attended my piano lessons every week—without fail. Of course, there were times when I got lazy and thought I had lost interest in practicing.
One day, during one of these periods, my mom asked me if I truly had no intention of practicing anymore. Without thinking it through, I told her I didn’t want to play the piano anymore. To my surprise, she took my words seriously—she locked the piano and forbade me from even touching it. She said, "If you've already made your decision, then focus on something else. Don’t waste time on something you don’t want to do."
I was shocked. I hadn’t expected such an extreme reaction. That moment made me realize that I had been taking my piano lessons for granted. While I had moments of laziness, I had never actually lost my love for music. Not playing the piano was not what I truly wanted. I loved it, and I learned that playing the piano requires commitment and discipline.
Over the years, my parents continued to take me to lessons, supporting me both financially and physically. But more than anything, the greatest gift they gave me was their unwavering consistency and determination.
Learning the Piano:
A Journey of Discipline & Art
A pianist is much like an athlete. Learning to play the piano is not just about building muscle memory—it is both an art and a science. Through piano lessons, students develop valuable life skills such as:
✅ Problem-solving abilities
✅ Increased attention span
✅ Empathy & emotional intelligence
✅ Relaxation & mindfulness
✅ Cultural enrichment
Music has so much to offer! It is fun and deeply rewarding to learn a musical instrument. With dedication, consistency, and the guidance of a professional teacher, you will reach your musical goals. I would be honored to be part of your piano journey!
When Is the Best Age to Start?
One of the most common questions I receive from parents is:
🗣️ "What is the youngest age you accept into your studio?"
There is no age limit for those who want to play and enjoy music. After all, I started learning the piano at three years old. Music is like learning a new language—except this language is already inside you. While starting early is beneficial, it is never too late to learn the piano. You can begin at any age!
Young Beginners: Are You Ready?
I accept young students who can:
✔️ Count from 1 to 10
✔️ Recognize the letters A to G
Sounds easy, right? Yes, it is! Starting is not difficult. But to make music sound truly beautiful, dedication and consistency are essential.
